Ramón Maria Narváez
Ramón María Narváez (Loja, Granada 1800-Madrid 1868), militar y político, fue el líder de los liberales moderados. Defensor de la causa liberal contra el absolutismo de Fernando VII, con Isabel II destacó en las guerras carlistas. Fue presidente de gobierno de 1844 a 1846 (con él se proclamó la Constitución de 1845 y se creó la Guardia Civil). También sería presidente de 1847 a 1851 y en tres ocasiones más de 1856 a 1868. Su muerte dejó el camino libre para la Revolución de 1868 que destronó a Isabel II.
Ramón María Narváez (Loja, Granada 1800-Madrid 1868). Soldier and statesman, leader of the moderate liberals. He championed liberal ideas against the absolutist rule of Fernando VII and played a key role in the Carlist wars during the reign of Isabel II. He was President of the Government between 1844 and 1846 (during his term in office, the 1845 Constitution was proclaimed and the Guardia Civil was created). He was the president of Spain from 1847 to 1851 and on three further occasions between 1856 and 1868. His death left the road clear for the advancement of the 1868 revolution which removed Isabel II from the throne.
