Rafael Alberti (El Puerto de Santa María, 1902-1999) fue uno de los principales poetas de la Generación del 27. Su obra evolucionó desde la sencillez de Marinero en Tierra (1924) al surrealismo pesimista de Sobre los Ángeles (1929). La política y, con el destierro tras la Guerra Civil, la nostalgia influyeron en su posterior obra.
Rafael Alberti (El Puerto de Santa Maria, 1902-1999) was one of the most prominent poets of the Generation of 27. The simplicity of his writing style, reflected in Marinero en Tierra (1924), evolved into the pessimistic surrealism of Concerning the Angels (1929). Politics, exile after the Spanish civil war, and nostalgia, all had a strong influence on his later work.
