Pedro Fajardo
Pedro Fajardo (ca. 1477-ca. 1542), Adelantado del Reino de Murcia, fue el primer marqués de los Vélez desde 1507. El rey Fernando le otorgó el señorío de Vélez a cambio del de Cartagena que él ostentaba. Se conoce su intervención en las guerras de Germanías, primero a favor de los comuneros y luego a favor del rey. Construyó los castillos de Vélez, Mula y Mazarrón y concluyó la capilla de los Vélez en la catedral de Murcia. En el castillo de Vélez habitó su familia hasta el siglo XIX.
Pedro Fajardo (circa 1477-circa 1542), Governor of the Kingdom of Murcia, became the first Marquis of Los Velez in 1507. King Fernando granted him the Señorio de Velez in exchange for that of Cartagena, which he owned. It is known that he took part in the Germanic wars, first in support of the commoners and then on behalf of the King. He commissioned the construction of the castles of Velez, Mula and Mazarron and ordered the completion of the chapel of Los Velez in Murcia's Cathedral. His family lived in the Castle of Los Velez until the 19th century.
