Pablo de Olavide (Lima 1725-Baeza 1803) fue un genuino representante del espíritu ilustrado. En el Alcázar se encontraba su vivienda como asistente de Sevilla (1767-1775). Allí organizó famosas tertulias donde se promovía las ideas de las "luces". Ordenó el primer plano de la ciudad, su división administrativa y la urbanización de la Mancebía del Arenal, que realizó el arquitecto Molviedro. Extraordinaria fue su obra de colonización de Sierra Morena.
Pablo de Olavide (Lima 1725-Baeza 1803), was a great exponent of the Enlightenment. He lived in the Alcázar in the role of Assistant of Seville (1767-1775). He organised famous debates where he promoted the ideas of the Enlightenment. He drew up the first plan of the city, divided it into administrative areas and developed the area Mancebía del Arenal, carried out by the architect Molviedro. He was the mastermind of the repopulation of the Sierra Morena.
