Muley Hacem
Muley Hacen fue sultán de Granada de 1464 a 1482. Al final de su reinado se inició la guerra de Granada con la toma de Zahara, que fue replicada por el duque de Medina Sidonia con la toma de Alhama. Esta situación la aprovechó Boabdil para rebelarse contra su padre destronarlo. En 1485 murió el sultán y su amante Zoraya, la cautiva cristiana Isabel de Solís, lo enterró en el Mulhacen para ocultarlo a sus enemigos. De esta leyenda proviene el nombre del pico más alto de la península.
Muley Hacen was the Sultan of Granada from 1464 to 1482. The end of his reign coincided with the beginning of the war of Granada which started with the invasion of Zahara, and the subsequent conquest of Alhama by the Duke of Medinasidonia. Boabdil took advantage of the situation to rebel against his father and dethrone him. In 1485 the Sultan and his lover Zoraya, (the captive Christian Isabel de Solís), buried him on the Mulhacen mountain to hide him from his enemies. From this legend comes the name of the highest peak in the Iberian Peninsula.
