Mohamed V, sultán de Granada (1354 a 1391), es junto con su antecesor, Yusuf I, el principal constructor de la Alhambra. A él se deben el palacio de los Leones, el cuarto Dorado, el Mexuar, la fachada del palacio de Comares, etc. También, durante su reinado se construyó el Maristán. En su corte brillaron Ben al Jatib y Ben Zamrak, ambos visires del reino nazarí, cuyos versos adornan la Alhambra.
Mohamed V, Sultan of Granada (1354 to 1391), together with his predecessor, Yusuf I, were the main constructors of the Alhambra. He commissioned the construction of the Palace of Los Leones, the Cuarto Dorado, the Mexuar, the façade of the Comares Palace, etc. The Maristan or hospital was also constructed during his reign. The most notable figures in his court included viziers of the Nasrid Kingdom, Ben al Jatib and Ben Zamrak, whose verses decorate the Alhambra.
