Almutamid
Almutamid (Béjar, Portugal 1040-Agmat, Marruecos 1095) fue el último rey de Sevilla del 1069 al 1091. Poeta y protector de poetas, su primer ministro fue el poeta Ben Ammar, a quien, según la leyenda, él mismo ejecutó a causa de sus reiteradas traiciones. Encontró en su esposa Rumaykiya-Itimad su verdadera pasión, que aun nos recuerdan relatos legendarios y la bella poesía amorosa del propio rey. Con él, su reino llegó a su apogeo, alcanzando una extensión que abarcaba el Algarve, Huelva, Algeciras, Sevilla, Ronda, Córdoba, Jaén y Murcia y con él también desapareció ante el empuje del almorávide Ibn Tasufin. Murió en 1095 de melancolía en el destierro en Marruecos.

This prime minister was the poet Ben Ammar who, according to legend, he himself executed because of his repeated acts of treason. His real love was his wife Rumaykiya-Itimad as reflected in his legendary tales and beautiful romantic poetry. Under his leadership, the kingdom reached its height, stretching from the Algarve, Huelva, Algeciras, Seville, Ronda, Cordoba, Jaen and Murcia. The kingdom disappeared under the advance of the Almoravid Ibn Tasufin. He died in sad exile in Morocco in 1095.
